Flutterpaw was crouching in the shadows, her blue eyes half-closed sleepily. She stretched herself out and stood, focusing on Victorychant for a moment before shrinking back fearfully. What do I have to do to walk across camp without bumping into a cat nowadays? The cream apprentice wondered, blinking slowly. It was time, she knew, to make new friends, but every time she saw someone she panicked and hid from them. She had no idea what they would do, and since [almost] everyone who she'd met since she returned had said something mean, Flutterpaw wasn't keen on meeting someone else.

Victorychant felt like an ancient ThunderClan warrior, when really, she was only 34 moons old. So many battles, so much death...She had lost both her parents so early, and so had her best friend Taintedstar. Her only friend, might I mention. That was her problem, the black femme had concluded. She and Taintedstar had been the best of friends forever, sharing everything, even grief for their dead parents, but now, Vic needed more friends. Not that she didn't love Taint, she just needed more faces to see, more cats to talk to. Maybe that would finally snap her out of this spell of grief.
